Please briefly tell us who you are – and how your journey with padel started.

My name is Kim Elgaard, I’m 35 years old, and in my daily life I’m the head of sports at Vejle Padelcenter. My padel journey started shortly before COVID-19, when four friends and I decided to try this “new” sport. I’m a former professional football player, and when that career came to an end, I needed to find a new way to stay in shape. That became padel – and I haven’t regretted it for a single second.

What are you most proud of in your padel career?

I’m most proud of having turned this sport into my livelihood. I work full-time with coaching, podcasts, and TV commentary, and the network I’ve built through the community is truly unique, both on and off the court.

What is your greatest strength – both on and off the court?

On the court, I’m an all-round player. I perform at almost the same level on both the right and left side. I’m a fighter, hard to win points against, and I have a high padel IQ.

Off the court, my greatest strengths are my energy and presence when we step onto the court. I always try to create a positive vibe around me and the game.

What does it mean to you to be part of and contribute to the padel community?

I love how close you are to the elite level. At tournaments, you’re sitting alongside the best players in the country. I think it’s great to talk padel with them and get advice. Another thing I really enjoy is that in almost any social setting, you can always talk padel with the person next to you. And it’s great that every padel player in the country is at least level 3.0 ;)

What does your collaboration with Cuera mean to you?

My collaboration with Cuera is fantastic. I wear Cuera clothing for most of my day, both on and off the court. It gives me a great feeling to train, play, and commentate while wearing high-quality gear.

Do you have a favorite piece from Cuera – and why?

When I’m on the court, there’s no doubt that the OnCourt Airy T-shirt is a must-have for me.

When I’m off the court, I’m really into the backpack – it’s perfect for my daily routine. There’s space for shoes, racket, toiletry bag, and a laptop. Just throw it on your back and go!
